A celebration of the art of comics

A wide array of artwork by local and international comic creators will be showcased during "BKK Comics Art Festival#2" on the Curved Wall, 5th floor of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Pathumwan intersection, until Sunday.

This is the second of an annual event organised by BKK Unzine, a free, independent art magazine, in collaboration with SEA Junction to provide a platform for talented creators and publishers working in comics and an opportunity for lovers of comics to interact with their favourite artists.

Featured in the exhibition are veterans of the Thai comics industry such as Apichart Rodwatanakul and Tode Kosumpisai. Their works are displayed alongside those of other notable artists in the Thai comic scene, including Namsai K and Ping Sasinan.

Also exhibited are international comics by Franco-Belgian artists representing the European alternative scene known as Bandes Dessinées, as well as pieces from the US and Taiwan.

The exhibition also brings entries of the finalists from the “BKKUnzine x Sakura Comic Storytelling Contest” and Forge Press LLC’s “New Camelot Coloring Contest”, which were open to college and university students across the country.
