The dining scene in Udon Thani has just got more varied with the opening of Peppine Verde by chef Paolo Vitaletti of Bangkok's Appia, Cetera, Peppina and Giglio Trattoria Fiorentina fame.
Peppina Verde is the Isaan outpost of the award-winning Peppina on Sukhumvit 33, which was voted the best pizza in Thailand and 43rd best pizza in the world in 2022’s Asia-Pacific’s Top 50 Pizza list. Given the reputation of the Italian chef-patron, you can expect Neapolitan pizza, fresh salads and premium wood-fired meats.
The restaurant aims to be a fun and informal international dining experience that marries classic Neapolitan techniques and flavours with innovative interpretations that lend a nod to the region it is in, such as Larb pizza with tuna, larb spices, garlic cream and Thai herbs. The restaurant not only honours the rich traditions of Italian cuisine but also makes use of the huge wealth of Isaan produce. Peppina Verde also features an extensive array of premium cold cuts and cheese, imported from Italy weekly, alongside ingredients such as Piennolo del Vesuvio tomatoes and fresh truffles.
The pièce de résistance of Peppina Verde’s culinary tapestry is its unparalleled selection of wood-fired meats. Locally-sourced organic black Angus beef from Khon Kaen takes centrestage, matured in Peppina Verde’s dry-ageing facility.
Try Isaan-meet-Italy flavours at the restaurant, which serves throughout the day.
