Disney celebrates anniversary with magical reunion

In celebration of its 100th anniversary this week, Disney has released Once Upon A Studio, an eight-minute special where all-star Disney characters come together for a joyful, entertaining and emotional reunion.

The live-action/animated fantasy comedy crossover short written and directed by Dan Abraham and Trent Correy is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

To mark this milestone of Disney characters loved by people of all generations, let’s take a look at some Disney classics available on Disney+ Hotstar.

Cinderella.

Cinderella (1950)

The plot is familiar — Cinderella, a cruel stepmother and a prince. This version of the Disney classic was nominated for Best Music, Original Song; Best Music, Scoring of a Musical Picture; and Best Sound, Recording at the 1951 Academy Awards. The animated feature also won two awards at the 1951 Berlin International Film Festival.

Alice In Wonderland.

This colourful film follows Alice who stumbles into the world of Wonderland. On her quest to get home, she runs into eccentric people and animals alike. The film was nominated for Best Music, Scoring of a Musical Picture at the 1952 Academy Awards.

Lady And The Tramp.

Lady And The Tramp (1955)

Fans of man’s best friends must not miss this Disney classic which tells the romantic tale of a sheltered uptown Cocker Spaniel and a streetwise downtown Mutt. They are all adorable and can make you cry.

The Little Mermaid.

The Little Mermaid (1989)

The best version, this film takes children and adults alike into an underwater world where mermaid princess Aerial — surrounded by friends and foes — attempts to become human and win a prince’s love. The movie won two Oscars for Best Music, Original Song; and Best Music, Original Score in 1990.
