Panasonic Expresses Gratitude to Valued Customers

On October 11th, 2023, Panasonic hosted an event to commend the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) of the Royal Thai Police for their unwavering dedication in eradicating counterfeit products from the Thai market. Panasonic Energy (Thailand) Co., Ltd. presented the ECD with a plaque and a letter of appreciation to recognise their continuous efforts.

Panasonic, in collaboration with the ECD, took significant action on July 26th, 2023, by apprehending a major seller of counterfeit batteries who was distributing these products through online platforms. This joint operation led to the confiscation of over 400,000 fake Panasonic batteries with a total value exceeding 17 million baht. Over the past two years, Panasonic and the ECD have actively pursued counterfeit sellers, resulting in multiple raids and the seizure of more than 600,000 counterfeit batteries in Thailand. All individuals involved in these illegal activities were apprehended and will face criminal charges under the Thai Trademark Act.

Panasonic remains committed to vigorously pursuing legal action against counterfeit sellers in collaboration with Thai authorities like the ECD, ensuring the protection of Thai consumers from counterfeit goods and upholding its social responsibility as a brand owner.

Panasonic urges the public and consumers to exercise caution when purchasing goods, particularly those offered through online platforms.

Panasonic extends heartfelt thanks to its customers for their trust in the company and its products. The commitment to combat counterfeit goods and safeguard customers will remain at the forefront of Panasonic’s mission.
